Pascal Bartoszak Biography
The quartet around the saxophonist Pascal Bartoszak dedicates its music to the swinging jazz tradition and brings it to the stage full of joy with the influences of today’s jazz trends.
Almost four years after the release of their first album “Back To Trad” the quartet now presents their new album “Common Ground”.
With “Common Ground” the four musicians from Cologne and Essen allude both to their shared passion for modern mainstream jazz and to their shared musical careers. Since their joint beginning in the Landesjugendjazzorchester NRW, they have consistently followed a common path, which finally led to the founding of the Pascal Bartoszak Quartet in 2014. This was quickly followed by successes and awards at competitions such as the Sparda Jazz Award, the Biberach Jazz Prize and the Young German Jazz Prize Osnabrück.
In addition to a strong melody, her music always focuses on the rhythm and groove of a title. From her point of view, there is good music that transcends genres and is independent of musical epochs. However, the spirit and energy of the great role models of the swinging jazz tradition always form the foundation for their own compositions.
On and beside the stage the four musicians now understand each other blindly and simply speak the same language regarding their musical preferences.
With the new CD “Common Ground” they present a further step in the development of their common musical path.
